 Hello,

This edition of the bi-monthly APLA Information Literacy Interest Group
email with links relevant to information literacy was compiled by Evelyn
Trainer.

Here are Evelyn's links along with an introduction:

As 2022 comes to a close, we’ve lived through another year of *fake news*
and *misinformation* being at the forefront of conversations. Information
providers have always dealt with misinformation by providing factual
information to their patrons. Information literacy is a springboard to
providing students, patrons, and the community the tools they need to be
critical thinkers. We can strengthen the members of our communities by
offering them a multitude of opportunities to strengthen their critical
thinking and researching skills. In turn, our community members are
empowered to discern fact from fiction, and to ask relevant questions of
doctors, research that medical information they’re given is up-to-date, and
even make safer financial decisions. Information literacy skills can be
built at any age or stage of life.
