Dear members -
Sharing this information (available in English only) from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) at the request of Dr. Guy Berthiaume:
On Monday, March 1, the Council on Library and Information Resources will announce the opening of the application period for its Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives regranting program. Since its establishment in 2015, the program has distributed over $US 24 million to digitize collections of rare and unique content in cultural memory institutions.
For the first time this year, Canadian nonprofit institutions are eligible to apply for an award. Previously, they were allowed to participate only as supporting partners to US-based institutions.
Also this year, the program will have a thematic focus on collections documenting the hidden histories of people who have previously be under-examined or unknown to broader audiences.
I thought this might be of interest to your members—please feel free to share with them. You can read more about the program here (full application information will become visible on Monday). Note that there will be informational webinars on March 17 and March 30, and that initial applications are due April 30.
