Let’s Talk Science - What’s on this week?

This week the Let’s Talk Science team has added resources to our website and we have continued to explore new ideas and opportunities to support learning for caregivers and youth  through STEM. Please consider sharing one of our posts on Twitter or Facebook with your community.

Additions to our STEM at Home page this week include:

·        curated resources available on Wakelets including :

o   Interesting Insects for K-3

o   Exploring Electricity for 4-6

·        and a new Wednesday Wonder challenge “What is an insect?” for K-6.

In addition to continuing to follow us on social media, and visiting our website, we encourage you to check out the time sensitive resources below!

Challenges, Competitions and Contests

Let’s Talk Science Challenge – Online

Students in grades 6-8 can register to participate weekly or in the entire series of 8. This week’s Challenge topic? Earth Science!

That’s A Real Job – Contest closes May 15

Youth can win prizes by telling us about their idea for a job of the future by drawing a picture, making a comic strip or sending us a video. Contest details are available at http://ow.ly/dw6450zdMri.

Let’s Talk Careers: Canada’s Most Informed Student Competition

Students have a month left to explore career and post-secondary resources in a daily quiz and earn bursary money at http://ow.ly/gLHK50zu0jw.

Visit our website often as we remain committed to updating our programs and activities on a regular basis. Questions, ideas or suggestions of how we can help? Please reach out to me directly.

Thank you for your continued support.
