Dear all,

As of this moment, APLA has yet to receive an official response to sending
the open letter <http://www.apla.ca/node/4651> to Premier Higgs and
Minister Holder with the New Brunswick Provincial Government, (besides, a
'thank you for you letter' automatic email reply).

Minister Holder has responded to media with the following, response -
GlobalNews/Canadian Press
<https://globalnews.ca/news/6629344/minister-says-there-was-no-patronage-involved-in-hiring-for-library-job/>,
and article - CBC
<https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/kevin-cormier-library-new-brunswick-trevor-holder-1.5483163>
.

The open letter was featured in this English language article
<https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/new-brunswick-public-library-director-kevin-cormier-1.5477991>
by
CBC-New Brunswick on Saturday February 25, 2020. Later that day, the APLA
Board was contacted by CBC-NB with a request to provide an interview in
French <http://www.apla.ca/node/4652>, and Marc Harper, our APLA Bulletin
co-editor (a Board position) spoke on our behalf.

APLA will continue to follow the situation, and seek a response from the
New Brunswick government with regards to the concerns.

with kind regards,
~ Trecia
