Library Research Help Casual Staff Position   

The Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) Library seeks a qualified candidate to provide user-centred information services on Saturday afternoons from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. during the Fall 2019 and Winter 2020 terms (September 21, 2019 – April 5, 2020). Other occasional hours may be available throughout the academic year.  Recent graduates of an information degree or diploma with library reference experience are encouraged to apply.  Applications from students in their second-year of a library and information Master’s program will also be considered.

Responsibilities and qualifications include:

Assisting undergraduate/graduate students and faculty with basic to advanced Library research questions in person, via e-mail, phone, and online (using BBC Ultra web conferencing). Assisting MSVU librarians with the development and maintenance of print and digital/web content, videos, reference guides, and other library/archival support materials. Related library projects will be assigned as they arise. Excellent service skills and experience with academic research databases, online discovery services, and LibGuides is required. Previous reference experience in a Novanet member library will be considered an asset.
 
Wage:  $17.00 - $21.00/hour depending on qualifications.
