Hi,

I was wanted to make APLA aware of a really neat program I recently caught wind of called Loan Stars. Loan Stars is a readers’ advisory service that allows library staff across Canada to collaboratively select their favourite forthcoming titles. Using CataList, the online catalogue tool available free to libraries, library staff can nominate their favourite adult titles, the most popular of which will be marketed to libraries and library users alike.

Library staff can volunteer to be part of the Loan Stars planning committee by e-mailing [log in to unmask]. I am currently the only Atlantic library representative, so it would be great to get some more Atlantic library members.

Perhaps this could be passed on to the list-serv or mentioned in the next APLA bulletin?

Thanks!

Hailey
