 What is Forest Friday?

The Forest of Reading® is Canada's largest recreational reading program! This initiative of the Ontario Library Association (OLA) offers eight reading programs to encourage a love of reading in people of all ages. The Forest helps celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors and illustrators. More than 250,000 readers participate annually from their School and/or Public Library. All Ontarians/Canadians are invited to participate via their local public library, school library, or individually.

These virtual author visits are free for all 2017 registrants.

All of these visits will happen from 11:45 pm to 12:30 pm.

Authors will host a 40-45 minute author visit virtually and you will be able to connect from your own computer. They will allow for 15-20 minutes of questions that can be asked through the interactive platform.

If you are unable to connect or attend, these sessions will be recorded and will be available after the visit on the password website!

HOW TO REGISTER? A day before the visit, we will send you an email on instructions on how to connect and the link to the visit. This link is not to be shared with anyone outside of your institution.  We use the Adobe Connect platform. For information on how to connect and troubleshooting your connection to the virtual visit, please visit our website.  Once you enter the site we ask that you use your school, library or readers name so that we can identify you as Forest members.

To read some frequently asked questions you may have, visit our Forest Fridays FAQs webpage.

Happy Reading from the Folks at the Forest of Reading!
