Hello folks, We are surveying Canadian academic librarians in tenured and tenure-track positions on the research support they receive. If you are one of them please fill out the survey below. (Maha and Carolyn) Dear colleagues, please take a moment to participate in our survey regarding the various support personnel or systems available to you as a tenure-track or tenured librarian. The purpose of this research is to 1) determine what kinds of research supports are currently available to Canadian academic librarians in tenured and tenure-track positions, and, 2) what other supports academic librarians would like to have available to them. The research supports available could be either financial (such as paying a proofreader, grant writer, editor, etc) or personnel (such as having a research facilitator or research personnel to help you initiate, conduct, and disseminate your research). There are around 30 questions or less depending on the options you choose. It should take about 15 – 20 minutes to complete. The first page of the survey has more information explaining our research project, ethics, right to withdraw, and contact information of both researchers. No personal identifying information is collected. Please do not hesitate to contact one of us if you have any further questions. The survey closes on November 9, 2016. Cette recherche a pour but de 1) déterminer les types d’appui à la recherche actuellement disponibles pour les bibliothécaires dans des postes permanents ou menant vers la permanence, et 2) les appuis supplémentaires auxquels les bibliothécaires universitaires aimeraient avoir accès. Les appuis à la recherche pourraient être disponibles sous forme financière (p. ex. défrayer les coûts associés à la révision, la rédaction de demandes de subvention, l’édition, etc.) ou en ressources humaines (p. ex. avoir un facilitateur de recherches ou du personnel dédié à la recherche pour vous aider à initier et effectuer votre recherche et en disséminer les résultats). Le sondage compte environ 30 questions ou moins selon les options que vous choisirez. Il faudra environ 15 à 20 minutes pour le compléter.
