Hi to all

Very good letter and initiative.

At the very least there will be an acknowledgement letter. But despites the probable lack of interest on their part, it is always pertinent/essential to write those letters.

Last summer the quebec government closed its health library. The room was not adequate anymore. It took a letter from Asted 3s, Asted/ABSC consorting with SLA (eastern chapter,) Corporation des bibliothécaires du Québec and l'APTDQ. Ultimately one of Asted 3s members went to the media and THEN things started to move. One of the biggest ministry in Québec was willing to trow away it's collection and 3 technicians. Simply appalling considering the information dealt with.

The same feeling applies to the closure of public libraries.

Hi Lindsay:

Excellent letter from you and the CHLA Board. I will be very interested to learn about the government’s response.

Regards,

Sandra

Hello,

As mentioned at the recent CHLA/ABSC AGM in Toronto, please see the attached letter to the Premier of Newfoundland & Labrador regarding the closure of over 50% of the province’s public libraries. Thank you very much for your support.

Sincerely,

Lindsay
