Chronicle Herald, Monday, 22 February 2016, page A11 BIANCHINI, Luciano 'Lucian' March 15, 1929 - February 19, 2016 was born in Bologna, Italy. He worked as Head Librarian at Mount Saint Vincent University and was highly involved with the Italian Community. Upon his retirement, he became President of Veritas Society. Having worked in this capacity for 22 years, he received the Archdiocesan Medal of Merit for his great contribution to the Church of Halifax. Luciano is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Therese; by two brothers in Italy, Valentino and Aristide; by one brother in Australia, Dino; and by his extended family and friends. Luciano will always be remembered for his steadfast faith and for his love of the Church, for his gentle smile, his whispering voice, for his love of wine making and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Visitation will be today, Monday, February 22 from 6:30-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary. Funeral Mass will be in St. Theresa's Church, North St., Halifax on Tuesday, February 23 at 11 a.m. with Archbishop Anthony Mancini presiding along with the Franciscans of Halifax.
