**A notice from ExLibris. Apologies for cross posting Rick Ficek, President ExLibris 2013-15 Are you interested in the history of Canadian archives and libraries? Do you still want to keep in touch with colleagues and associates even after retirement? Then you might want to consider becoming a member of ExLibris. ExLibris is a Canada wide organization-actually, the largest such organization in North America-for retired librarians and archivists and for those who while working are interested in the history of our profession. We hold an annual conference, publish a newsletter, ELAN, twice a year and provide a host of social activities for our members. We issue an award, the W.Kaye Lamb Award, for the library offering outstanding programmes for seniors in Canada. We lobby governments across the country in order to ensure the continued well-being of libraries and archives in Canada. We do original research and publish materials on those in our profession who have made significant contributions throughout our history. These are just a few of our many activities and a few of the reasons why you might want to join ExLibris. Please see our website: exlibris.pbworks.com for more details and how to become a member. Remember -- you don't have to leave the profession when you retire!
