DUTIES: The primary responsibilities of this position include the ordering and acquisition of all Library material
as well as assisting with the physical control of specific collections (e.g. print serials). The position is a member of the Library’s electronic resource management (ERM) team and uses a variety of tools including the Novanet acquisitions, serials and cataloguing
modules of the ExLibris Aleph system. The Coordinator is a contact for consortia, vendors, and publishers regarding orders, pricing, renewal, and delivery, working with Financial Services to process invoices and payments. Other tasks include preparing the
acquisitions budget and participating in budget forecasting. Liaising with faculty, students, and patrons is occasionally required, for instance to process various orders, handle thesis binding requests, and track down any necessary copyright permissions
for content used within academic programs. The Coordinator is also a member of the Library’s information services team and will have regular reference shifts as required. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Collections and Reference Librarian.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a University degree and a minimum of two years of previous work experience
in a library, preferably in an academic environment. A Library Technician’s Diploma will be considered an asset. The candidate should have a broad understanding of library resources in all formats. Skills in using word processing, spreadsheet and database
software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and Access) are required. Technical skills and experience with an automated Library system (preferably ExLibris’ Aleph) is essential. The candidate should have an interest in, or knowledge of, the Canadian copyright landscape
and its application in an academic setting. The Mount is committed to exceptional customer service and this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Reference services will require a proficiency in the use of scholarly research databases and prior experience with these resources will be considered an asset. The Mount Library is a busy, fast-paced environment. The incumbent must be a problem solver, be
flexible with the ability to switch tasks easily, possess financial aptitude and have a keen attention for details.

Salary Range:
$41,126 - $49,107 per annum
