This series of four one-hour sessions is suitable for information professionals working in any setting. Content will be presented at an advanced beginner level, illustrated with examples of recent research that has contributed to our body of professional knowledge and include selected references recommended for further reading. A special focus will be on translating workplace problems into answerable research questions, then selecting a menu of established research methods to most effectively study the problem.

Participants will have opportunities for hands-on practice in the form of take-home exercises made available at the end of each session. Exercises will not be marked individually and will not be discussed in subsequent classes, but the instructor will provide a completed exercise for comparison and the opportunity to ask questions and share perceptions with the instructor and other participants via a closed listserv.

She has been WSPL's first dedicated teen librarian for two years, and knows the challenges and joys of working with young adults on limited resources. She still can’t believe that she gets paid to plan fun programs and talk about her favourite books.
