The Newfoundland and Labrador Library Association (NLLA) Annual Conference will take place on June 10, 2015.

Our theme is Mainstays: Charting the course.

The NLLA conference will kick off a week of conversations about library practice that will inform and inspire. Our conference will act as the Pre-conference workshop for the Atlantic Provinces Library Association (APLA) conference (June 11-13), which will warm us up for the WILU conference taking place June 15-17.

The theme of the APLA conference is Libraries: Powered by Change. WILU’s theme is Sea Change: Transforming Learning. In the midst of all this talk of change, we have chosen a theme that looks instead at the fundamentals of libraries. What are the things that our users rely on; the things that keep us grounded; the things that libraries have been doing since the beginning? These are the mainstays – the things that don’t change – like serving the public, providing free access to resources, teaching, providing community space, and seeking new ways to serve our patrons.

You may be in the public, school, academic, or special library sectors, or you operate beyond library walls. In any case, you have something important to say about how your activities support the mission of libraries, the mainstays that we all share.

We are seeking proposals for the following:
  • Full presentations – These are 30 minute sessions composed of a 20-minute presentation and 10-minute question period.
  • Lightning Round presentations – These are 7-minute timed talks, great for giving attendees a brief glimpse into an idea, project, or program.
The deadline for proposals is Friday, February 20. Please send proposals (1 page maximum) to:
