Margaret Williams Trust Fund Award

The Trustees of the Margaret Williams Trust Fund have presented the 2014 award to David Purdy in the amount of $500. The award was established to promote the development of librarianship in Newfoundland and Labrador and honour the memory of long-standing Memorial University Librarian Margaret Williams.
Mr. Purdy holds a MA (English), 2012, from Acadia University, and a BA (Hons), 2010, from Memorial University. He is currently attending at Western University, London, ON, where he is completing a Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS). “I feel passionately about providing the world with access to more of humanity’s knowledge, an! d I believe that this career path is a good way to further that goal,� $B!I said Mr. Purdy in his award application.
Funds are awarded on a competitive basis to applicants seeking funding for library‐related projects or assistance in pursuing graduate studies in librarianship, archival studies, or teacher librarianship.
