Shortgrass Library System is seeking an energetic,
innovative and service-oriented individual for the position of Systems

Under the leadership of the Manager, Technology Services, the position
provides essential services in the area of technology for the library

Areas of responsibility include:

   - design, implementation, integration and daily operations of the
   library system's computer systems: including WAN/LANs, servers, integrated
   library system, internet access, telecommunications, and related systems;
   - managing network and internet services to member libraries;
   - participate in organizing staff training on the use of new software
   and services;
   - maintain the Shortgrass Library System website and member library

The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience, including

   - knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi/ESX products;
   - experience supporting Windows Server products;
   - experience in installing and managing security for Microsoft OS and
   - A+ and Network+;
   - knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system required;
   - knowledge of Asterisk/FreePBX VOIP software;
   - knowledge of the Google Apps platform;
   - knowledge of wireless networking and security;
   - knowledge of Drupal web platform;
   - ability to design and present training programs;
   - excellent communication and organization skills;
   - initiative, mature judgement and decision-making skills.

Educational qualifications must include a two-year diploma, or equivalent,
specializing in computer technology. Must have A+ and Network+

Must be in possession of a valid driver's license and have a clean driving

This is a full-time permanent position which may include some evening and
weekend work.

Salary range starts at $43,829 (will be negotiated depending on experience)
plus benefits package including: extended health & dental benefits, Short &
Long Term Disability, Life Insurance & Pension Plan.

Shortgrass Library System is one of Alberta's seven regional library
systems. Covering the south-eastern corner of Alberta, and headquartered in
Medicine Hat, Alberta, Shortgrass serves a population of over 100,000
through a network of twelve autonomous public libraries. We also provide
contractual services to a total of thirty-three school libraries in the
Prairie Rose School Division Number 8 and Medicine Hat School District
Number 76.

on ongoing projects such as the regional One Community One Card system and
the Shared Intern Librarian initiative.
