Louise,

thanks for keeping us updated on this.
I also appreciate that you have the CLA and Partnership in the loop.

Subject: [APLA] Update on Complaint re LAC Code of Conduct

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been in correspondence with the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada investigator assigned to the Associations complaint regarding the LAC Code of Conduct.  The investigator reports that she will “…undertake a detailed review of the Library and Archives Canada’s Code of Conduct while considering [our] concerns set out in [our] complaint dated July 11, 2013.”  She is “ … in the initial stage of reviewing the file and gathering all of the necessary information to advance the investigation.”

In addition, the investigator has “… made initial contact with the officials at Library and Archives Canada and will seek further submissions from them, as deemed necessary.”

I have been keeping CLA and The Partnership up to date on this matter as well. CLA and many of associations that are members of The Partnership also made efforts to bring this issue into the public arena. They too are watching this process with interest.

Regards,

Louise

Good afternoon Natasa.  The Atlantic Provinces Library Association was pleased to learn that our complaint against the Library and Archives Canada Code of Conduct was received by the Office of the Information Commissioner and assigned to an investigator.     Can you please tell me what happens next?  How is a complaint such as ours investigated?

Louise
