APLA continues to advocate on behalf of libraries in our region, as well as nationally. On the APLA homepage<http://www.apla.ca/> you will find two new documents of interest: a reply from the Minister of Education for Newfoundland and Labrador to APLA's letter of concern about budget cuts to the public library system of the province; and a Joint Statement on Qualities of a Successful Librarian and Archivist of Canada, endorsed by APLA and 18 other associations interested in positively influencing the outcome of the search for the next Head of LAC.
