You will remember that APLA is fundraising to support the Alicho Wuriro Reading Room in Ethiopia.  I am happy to report that to date we have raised $917 toward our goal of $2,500.  These funds have been raised in various ways – through personal donations, special occasion gifts, and a Vesey’s Spring bulb sale at the Queen Elizabeth II Library, Memorial University. (See screenshot below for the latter gift, and thanks to Grow a Library Committee member Lorraine Jackson for organizing the sale!) Starting this Friday, UNB Libraries will be holding a small book sale, with proceeds going to this initiative.  Can you help us achieve our goal by holding a small fundraising event in your library?  There is no donation too small  to make a difference!
