I’d like to get some more info from Krista, or at least get pointed in the right direction. Does Krista want to get on the Advocacy IG list?

NLL is the only province that is without representation on the Advocacy IG.  That’s unfortunate although we can probably gather all the information we need to respond.

Lou, let me know if and how you would like us to help.  I’m certainly willing to help draft a response.

Hi Krista,
I think both the executive list and the advocacy group list would be good to circulate information to.
This is terrible news and we will definitely work on some response – happy to let NLLA take the lead.

Subject: NL Library cuts

Hi all

I wanted to let you know that today, 5/15 librarians in NLPL have been told not to come back after today. At least 1 government librarian has also been let go. Needless to say, this will have great implications on library services in the province.

NLLA is gathering information and working on getting a response out. I’m hoping that APLA will be willing to send a letter in support of the NLLA response. Should future information be sent to the executive or the advocacy group?

Krista
