0.6 LIBRARY TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: APSEA Centre, Halifax, NS

POSITION SCOPE: 

The Library Technician, under the supervision of the Library Media Supervisor, is
responsible for obtaining, circulating, cataloguing, making accessible and storing a
collection of educational materials and resources used in the education of students
served by APSEA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCELibrary Technician Diploma. At least two years experience working in a library with experience in circulation and reference services. Strong understanding of, and at least two years experience in, creating and maintaining bibliographic records according to library standards. Experience in handling interlibrary loans. Experience and ability to utilize a variety of technologies and computer applications including word processing, e-mail, and library software. Experience and/or knowledge of alternate format production is considered an asset.

TERM: Part-time (0.6) permanent position beginning February 15, 2013.

SALARY: In accordance with APSEA/NSGEU Agreement.
