Good Afternoon,
I wanted to make you aware of some short videos on the value of family literacy that you might find useful, especially in school/public library settings. They were created by the In Home Family Literacy Team, which is part of the Healthy
Beginnings Program (public health) in partnership with Shelburne and Yarmouth County Community Learning Network. The program is offered in southwestern Nova Scotia.
In Home Family Literacy Team reaches out to identified families by working in the home with an Early Childhood Educator(children under school age) and an Adult Educator, who each work independently for 1 hour and who then come together
to do a short "together" project. The project was started in 2008 and generally runs from September/October to April/May.
There are 5 videos in all, 2 are only in French. They are very short, well produced, and I hope you might find them useful.
