2nd Call for Proposals

The APLA Programming Committee invites proposals to be considered for presentation at
APLA 2013. The theme for APLA 2013 is Go Organic! Locally sourced libraries. The theme
underlines the idea of the library as a "natural" part of a healthy community. Focusing on the
vital services and space offered while highlighting homegrown library initiatives.

The Conference will be held at The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Charlottetown,
PEI, May 14-17, 2013. Located on 140 acres in central Charlottetown, UPEI has a rich history of
community engagement.

Types of Sessions:

Presentation Sessions
A sixty (60) minute session which includes a forty-five (45) minute presentation and a fifteen
(15) minute question/discussion period.

Poster Sessions

Posters are invited along the same themes as those of the contributed papers, although
submissions along other themes are welcome.


A half or full day hour participatory workshop reflecting the conference theme.

Submission Information:

Please submit your proposal by Wednesday December 12th, 2012. Please include the following
Potential presenters will be notified by January 31st, 2013. All presenters are responsible for
their own registration, travel and accommodation.

The Programming Committee will employ a selection process where proposals will be evaluated based on originality,
practicality, relevance to the conference theme, and contribution to the field..
