PRESS RELEASE

November 5, 2012

The 2012-2013 WOW! Reading Challenge for World Literacy Supremacy begins!

The 2012-2013 WOW! Reading Challenge for World Literacy Championship
supremacy returns to a school classroom near you and from around the world -
starting November 22nd , 2012 continues until April 5th, 2013.

The Wow! Reading Challenge is open to any elementary, junior high, First
Nation, special needs, adult education school and group home in the world.
(This is why it is called the World Literacy Championship.) This year will
be the seventh year for this Challenge. Schools from Ireland, England, the
USA, and South Africa have competed against schools here in Canada. So far
in excess of six million books have been read at the elementary level and
over four million pages have been read by students challenging themselves at
the Junior High Level in an attempt to be crowned the best readers in the
world.

The goal of the WOW! Reading Challenge for World Literacy Supremacy - is to
claim the title of "Top Bookworm". The winning score is based upon number of
books read per student/participant, and the books read by a teacher or
instructor - also count too! Bronze, silver and gold medal banners are
awarded for each division, in addition to several overall World Literacy
Championship division trophies and there are monthly draws for new books for
each school or group home that participates.
