Bill C-321 heads to the Senate
Following a vote in the House of Commons on Wednesday, Bill C-321 on the Library Book Rate again received unanimous support from Members of Parliament. Merv Tweed, MP for Brandon-Souris and sponsor of this private members bill, has confirmed that the bill is now off to the Senate; it is his hope that it will receive Royal Assent by the end of the year. This is a major step forward for this key piece of legislation for the library community! Watch for updates in the Digest and on CLA-L as the bill takes its final steps through the parliamentary process.
