Partnership: The Canadian Journal of Library and Information Practice and Research invite les personnes intéressées à poser leur candidature pour le poste de rédacteur ou de rédactrice francophone.  

Le titulaire de ce poste se rapportera au rédacteur en chef et travaillera dans une atmosphère collégiale, au sein d’une équipe comprenant dix autres rédacteurs de Partnership et un directeur des opérations.  Ce poste est non-rémunéré.  Partnership est un des leaders canadiens des revues en ligne servant les professions en bibliothéconomie et sciences de l’information.  Ce poste offre une excellente visibilité et des possibilités de développement professionnel.  Les avantages incluent l’inscription gratuite à l’OLA Super Conference annuelle.  La durée du mandat initial est de deux ans (renouvelable).

Attributions

·       Encourager et faire la promotion du contenu français de la revue.

·       Développer et maintenir des contacts avec des auteurs, des réviseurs et des lecteurs dans la communauté francophone de la bibliothéconomie.

·       Gérer les soumissions francophones à la revue, y compris : recevoir et évaluer les soumissions; sélectionner les pairs examinateurs, quand approprié; évaluer les recommandations des réviseurs; prendre des décisions éditoriales; communiquer avec les auteurs, les examinateurs, les réviseurs linguistiques et les rédacteurs metteur en page, afin d’assurer la bonne gestion de chaque soumission.

 

Exigences

 

Contexte  

La langue de travail du comité de rédaction de Partnership est l’anglais.  Le travail pour la revue se déroule principalement par courriel, et par téléconférences occasionnelles et une réunion par année.  Le temps à consacrer à la tâche de rédacteur francophone dépendra grandement du nombre de manuscrits soumis, les périodes d’activité de pointe  se situant en mars et septembre, à la suite des dates limites de soumission.  La charge de travail ne devrait pas dépasser 15 jours par année.

French Language Editor

Partnership: The Canadian Journal of Library and Information Practice and Research invites applications for the position of French Language Editor.

Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, and working in a collegial atmosphere with a team of ten other Partnership editors and a Business Manager, this is an unpaid position on one of Canada’s leading open access journals serving the library profession.  The position provides excellent recognition and professional development opportunities. Benefits include complimentary registration at the annual OLA Super Conference. The initial term of appointment is two years (renewable).

Duties

·       Encourages and promotes French language content for the journal

·       Develops and maintains contacts with authors, reviewers and readers in the francophone library community

·        Manages French language submissions to the journal, including: receiving and evaluating submissions; selecting peer-reviewers, where appropriate; evaluating reviewers’ recommendations; making publishing decisions; and communicating with authors, reviewers, copy and layout editors to ensure the smooth handling of each submission.

 

Qualifications

 

Background  

The working language of the Partnership editorial team is English. The business of running the journal is conducted primarily by email with occasional teleconferences and one face-to-face meeting per year. The time commitment for the French Language Editor will depend largely on the number of French manuscripts submitted, with peak activity occurring in March and September following submission deadlines.  The workload would probably not exceed 15 days per year.
