While you are gearing up to enjoy this year's Canadian Library Association (CLA) National Conference and Trade Show, you are warmly invited to attend the OCLC Americas Regional Council (ARC) Member Meeting and OCLC Canada Symposium on Transformational Literacy: Life Stages and Libraries, Museums and Archives. This event will take place on May 25, from noon until 5:00 p.m., as a pre-conference session at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
It promises to be a very exciting program, including guest speakers such as Daniel Boivin (Executive Director, OCLC Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean), Tom Hickerson (Vice Provost, Libraries and Cultural Resources, and University Librarian, University of Calgary), and keynote speaker DeNel Rehberg Sedo (Associate Professor, Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University).
This pre-conference session is free and open to all, and lunch will be provided. Please register through CLA Online. Registration will be capped at 150 attendees.
For more information, please visit the OCLC Meeting and Symposium on "Transformational Literacy" webpage.
Thanks, and have a great CLA 2011!
