Greetings colleagues,



While you are gearing up to enjoy this year's Canadian Library Association (CLA) National Conference and Trade Show<http://www.cla.ca/conference/2011/>, you are warmly invited to attend the OCLC Americas Regional Council (ARC) Member Meeting and OCLC Canada Symposium on Transformational Literacy: Life Stages and Libraries, Museums and Archives<http://oclc.org/cmstools/cssinliner/process.pl?url=http://oclc.org/content/emailcontent/en/member_update/ARC_Symposium_CLA.html>. This event will take place on May 25, from noon until 5:00 p.m., as a pre-conference session at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.



It promises to be a very exciting program, including guest speakers such as Daniel Boivin<http://www.oclc.org/speakers/bios/boivin_daniel.htm> (Executive Director, OCLC Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean), Tom Hickerson<http://www.ucalgary.ca/provost/vp/vplib> (Vice Provost, Libraries and Cultural Resources, and University Librarian, University of Calgary), and keynote speaker DeNel Rehberg Sedo<http://denelrehbergsedo.wordpress.com/> (Associate Professor, Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University).
