I’ve been in contact with Christopher Brideau, Communications Officer with Census-Halifax, about the Census and NHS and promoting both and encouraging people to participate. At the moment they are focused on recruiting so I am forwarding his email with attachments in case you would like to use them. Also, at the bottom of this email is wording you can use if you are emailing, posting to a website or adding a hyperlink.

I have displayed the materials he sent me and shared them with other libraries in my region. Please feel free to do the same, but there is no pressure or obligation.

He has also informed me that Census 2011 bookmarks are now available. If you prefer, you may order them through me or you may contact him directly.

I feel very strongly about this issue both as a Canadian and an Information Professional and I believe many of  our members feel likewise, so I have offered APLA’s assistance to do what we can to promote the NHS and make sure the government is getting the clearest picture of Canadians possible. I will keep you posted as to what I know and I would be grateful if you could share any information you have. If you have any ideas about how we can help promote the Census and NHS, what your library is doing or has done, etc., please don’t hesitate to share. And if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you very much everyone.
