extraordinaire' on the practical techniques of thinking strategically. During
the 30 years of working with information professionals, Dysart & Jones
(D&J) have heard clients regularly voice their own challenge and that of
their staff in seeing "the big picture". Join D&J as they discuss
techniques and provide tips and resources to help participants think more
strategically and align their services with organizational strategies and
business practices.
Rebecca Jones has an extensive background as a facilitator
and consultant as well as a corporate manager, information specialist, and
trainer. She is a recipient of Factiva's Leadership Award and a Fellow of SLA
library association.

Integrating the Community-Led
Service Model--Shifting Branch and Service Development
with Ken Williment and Tracey Jones-Grant – 1 hour Audio Conference
Since
2004, Halifax Public Libraries has had the unique opportunity to explore,
develop, and implement innovative approaches to working with communities. The
community-led service model - one of the key outcomes from the Working Together
project (2004-2008) - has provided new approaches for library staff to build
skill sets to discover community need, collaboratively plan and deliver
services with community members, and continuously evaluate the process. This
presentation will provide examples of how community-led work can be implemented
within a library system.
Ken Williment is the Community Development Manager at
Halifax Public Libraries. He works closely with branch and service managers to
integrate community-led approaches within library staff work. Tracey
Jones-Grant is the Diversity Services Manager at Halifax Public Libraries
where she has been involved in community engagement and change management since
working as the Manager for one of Halifax Public Libraries inner city branches.

attention to as we plan activities and services in libraries. It covers the
challenges and opportunities presented by the digital native generation. Join
this fast paced discussion by an information industry professional with her
pulse on what's happening and what we need to know going forward.
Michelle Manafy has been involved in book and
magazine publishing for more than 20 years. She is currently the Editorial
Director, Enterprise Group, for Information Today, Inc. where she serves as
editor-in-chief for EContent magazine, the Intranets newsletter, and the Enterprise
Search Sourcebook. She is also the programming chair of Information Today's
Enterprise Search Summits and Buying & Selling eContent conference.
