The Education Institute Welcomes Robert Burgin!

Wednesday, April 14th at 2:00 PM ET (11:00 AM PT)
Readers' Advisory: it's Not Just for Fiction Anymore!
with Robert Burgin, Library Consultant, and recently retired from his
position as Associate Dean and Professor at North Carolina University's
School of Library and Information Sciences - 1 hour AUDIO Conference

The recent renaissance in readers' advisory has focused primarily on
fiction, but many readers read non-fiction for pleasure and not just to
meet specific information needs. This session will help participants
understand why people read non-fiction and how concepts such as genre
and appeal factors apply to non-fiction. Participants will also learn
about tools and techniques that work for non-fiction readers' advisory.

Robert Burgin is a well-known speaker and advocate of Readers' Advisory.
Currently he is editing Libraries Unlimited's new non-fiction readers'
advisory series: Real Stories.
