Cape Breton University (CBU) is
located on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia’s tourism centrepiece and home
to rich Celtic, Mi’kmaq, and Acadian culture. CBU has a reputation for
small class sizes, strong community involvement, and strong internal support for
CBU invites applications for a
full-time probationary position in the Library at the rank of Librarian I to
commence July 2010 or sooner.
The successful candidate will
offer multi- disciplinary reference services and information literacy
instruction, as well as provide collection development and liaison with
academic departments (primarily education, humanities and social sciences).
Other duties and work on special projects will be assigned as opportunities and
needs arise. The working schedule currently includes one evening per week and
one Saturday per month.
have an MLIS from an ALA accredited institution with preference being given to
candidates with a minimum of one year experience in an academic library.
