Brenda Putnam has worked at the Institute for Human Services Education In Nova Scotia since 1982. The Institute was awarded a contract with Nova Institution, an institution for federally sentenced women in the Maritimes, and Brenda was selected to facilitate training within the instititution. In addition to this, she is active in early intervention training with families and many other groups. This session covers the topic with added emphasis on graphic novels read by adults as well as those titles that are written specifically for adults. Other topics include "How adult is too Adult?" "Which titles are winners with adults?" David S. Serchay is a youth services librarian for the Broward County Library System in South Florida, where he is on the graphic novel selection committee. He has been reading comic books all of his life, and has a personal collection of over 25,000 comics and graphic novels. He has written extensively on the topic, his most recent publication (October 2009) from Neal-Schuman Publishers Inc. is titled: The Librarian's Guide to Graphic Novels for Adults.
