The Patrick Power Library, Saint Mary's University seeks an enthusiastic and
service-centered individual to assume the full-time position of Library
Clerk II.  

 

Under the supervision of the Head of Access Services, the Library Clerk II
is primarily responsible for stacks maintenance. This involves coordinating
shifting and storage projects, investigating and making recommendations on
shelving problems and maintaining stacks related statistics. The Library
Clerk II works at the Circulation Desk to ensure all services are provided
in an effective and efficient manner.  This includes charging out and
renewing materials, assisting patrons in locating materials, solving patron
problems and responding to patron queries by telephone and in person. The
Library Clerk II assists in overseeing, coordinating and correcting the work
of student assistants and assigns duties in absence of the evening/weekend
supervisor. He/she is responsible for Department operations for the Sunday
evening shift.

 

The successful candidate will be a high school graduate and have a minimum
of six (6) months directly related experience. We require an individual who
is proficient in MS Office, is able to work independently and
collaboratively in teams, and who has strong interpersonal and
organizational skills, as well as a proven record of positive customer
service. Experience in the Novanet Aleph Integrated Library System is
considered an asset.
