Nova Scotia Community College is at a pivotal time in our history. NSCC

Strategic Plan in 2006. Already at the forefront of education innovation
in Canada, this plan uses that foundation to deliver on our goal of
being a national-calibre college.

Our Opportunity: As the Director, Library Services, reporting to the

College's library service meets the information needs of the students,

information literacy, both directly and indirectly. You will also
create planning for substantial user and non-user education, liaison
with individual faculty and staff, Program Advisory Committees, and
Faculty Working Groups, as well as senior management of the College.
You will be accountable for achieving the balance between the
centralized service, and its benefits, and meeting the unique needs of
individual campus sites, which will include managing both the
centralized operation, and the geographically dispersed staff of
librarians, library technicians and library assistants.

Your Credentials:

* You have a Master of Library Science/Information Science from
an ALA accredited institution, combined with a minimum of seven years of
occupational experience.

* You have demonstrated strategic and long term planning skills.

* You are innovative, responsive and capable of leading the
college libraries within the electronic environment.

* You have exceptional communication, decision-making, and
strategic and long term planning skills.

* You have demonstrated capacity to build consensus and work
across diverse college departments.

Cultivating Diversity: The College values diversity in the workplace
and strongly encourages applications from African Nova Scotians and
other members of the visible minority community, Aboriginal peoples,
persons with disabilities and women in non-traditional roles.
Applicants from these designated groups wishing to self identify may do
so in their cover letters or by filling out the attached questionnaire
on Cultivating Diversity at the end of the application process.

NSCC offers a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
