Putting Readers First: An Introduction to the Reader-Centred Approach

Would you like your library to take on a more reader-centred approach?  Are you interested in exploring and expanding your skills or confidence as a Readers' Advisor?  Would you like a trip to Montreal this spring?  Then this pre-conference session is for you!

Sponsored by CAPL, the CLA pre-conference session, Putting Readers First: An Introduction to the Reader-Centred Approach will be talking about talking about books all day on Friday, May 29 in Montreal.

The pre-conference session will be run by Rachel Van Riel of Opening the Book (http://www.openingthebook.com/), a professional Readers' Services company in the UK.  Back by popular demand, Rachel last spoke at a session of the 2008 CLA Conference and offered participants inspiration in her new approach to marketing collections.  She has an extensive background in Readers Advisory and has just published the book "The Reader-friendly Library Service".

For more details and to register for this exciting session, please visit http://www.cla.ca/conference/2009/.  Registration deadline is April 17th.

Hope to see you there!
