If you are interested in Streaming Media, you may not want to miss this Education Institute session on Wednesday, November 26th at 2:00 pm ET.

Streaming Media: Sink or Swim with speaker Susan Weber, Media Librarian at Langara College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Susan's role includes negotiation of rights, liaison with media librarians, curriculum developers and industry contacts, cataloguing standards, coordination of evaluation processes and showcase, reference and information services.

Langara College is home to AEMAC - the Advanced Education Media Acquisitions Centre. Since 1989 AEMAC has been funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education to provide efficient and cost-effective procurement of media and other instructional resources on behalf of the post-secondary system.

In 1999 AEMAC was the recipient of the CLA/3M Canada Award for Achievement in Technical Services for developing the Media Standards for Video Cataloguing and providing online centralized cataloguing.  AEMAC continues to provide a leadership role in the field of streaming media.

To quote Susan's opening slide in her Wednesday session:

Video has the power to transform any lesson into a memorable experience.
