If you are interested in Streaming Media, you may not want to miss this
Education Institute session on Wednesday, November 26th at 2:00 pm ET.

 

Streaming Media: Sink or Swim with speaker Susan Weber, Media Librarian
at Langara College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Susan's role includes
negotiation of rights, liaison with media librarians, curriculum
developers and industry contacts, cataloguing standards, coordination of
evaluation processes and showcase, reference and information services.  

 

Langara College is home to AEMAC - the Advanced Education Media
Acquisitions Centre. Since 1989 AEMAC has been funded by the British
Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education to provide efficient and
cost-effective procurement of media and other instructional resources on
behalf of the post-secondary system.  

 

In 1999 AEMAC was the recipient of the CLA/3M Canada Award for
Achievement in Technical Services for developing the Media Standards for
Video Cataloguing and providing online centralized cataloguing.  AEMAC
continues to provide a leadership role in the field of streaming media.
