Hi everyone!

It is hard to believe that so soon after such a wonderful conference in Charlottetown, Debbie Costelo (APLA Conference Chair 2009) has been hard at work trying to secure a venue for Halifax next year. Debbie has met and negotiated with 2 hotels in Halifax who can accommodate the meeting/exhibits space our conference requires and was very challenged to find suitable dates/locale for the month of May (which is usually when the APLA conference is held).

Therefore, I am happy to report that the APLA Executive has approved the location and dates for the 2009 APLA Conference.  It will be held from Wednesday, June 10 to Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  While this marks a shift in dates, the weather will be great and the sights, sounds and energy of the Halifax waterfront will be in full swing.  The APLA Executive wishes Debbie and her team the best of luck with their planning over the next 12 months and look forward to an exciting program.

The APLA Executive has already approved the change in date as outlined in Standing Order 1.01: “The ordinary general meeting of APLA will be held in May unless otherwise decided by the Executive in a particular year.”
