The Partnership Journal is looking for volunteers to fill the following
positions on the Editorial Board.  Please email a letter of interest and

Theory and Research Section Editor 

 

The Editor, Theory / Research of Partnership works with authors on the
cutting edge of librarianship, in Canada and beyond, as well as with an
enthusiastic and committed pool of volunteer peer reviewers and
editorial team.  Working with the Editor-in-Chief, the Editor helps to
determine the suitability of an article for this section, assigns
reviewers, coordinates the work of peer reviewers, adds editorial
comments, and assists authors in the process of any required revisions.
The workload is light through most of the year, with moderate activity
for about a month after the peer-review deadline (about 3-4 hours per
week) and intense activity as the articles go through final revisions
(about 6-8 hours per week, for about 2-3 weeks).  The precise nature of
the work, and the workload, is likely to vary depending on the style of
the Editor.

 

Innovations in Practice Section Editor

 

The Editor, Innovations in Practice of Partnership works with authors of
manuscripts on new and best practices in library and information
practice in Canada and beyond. With the help of an enthusiastic and
committed pool of volunteer peer reviewers and editorial team. Working
with the Editor-in-Chief, the Editor helps to determine the suitability
of an article for this section, assigns reviewers, coordinates the work
of peer reviewers, adds editorial comments, and assists authors in the
process of any required revisions.  With two issues published a year,
the workload is light through most of the year, with moderate activity
for about a month after the peer-review deadline (about 2 hours per
week) and intense activity as the articles go through final revisions
(about 4-5 hours per week, for about 2-3 weeks).  The precise nature of
the work, and the workload, is likely to vary depending on the style of
the Editor.

 

Professional Development Section Editor

 

The Editor, Professional Development of Partnership is responsible to
develop an appropriate theme for each issue, and seek out, receive and
edit relevant submissions from interested authors.  Working with the
Editor-in-Chief, the Editor helps to determine the suitability of an
article for this section, adds editorial comments, and assists authors
in the process of any required revisions.  The workload is variable and
depends primarily on the number of submissions received through calls
for papers; the Editor may find that s/he must spend a fair amount of
time reviewing conference programs and networking with contacts to try
to flesh out the section for a given issue.  An outgoing personality and
comfort with "cold calls" (or emails) will be an asset in this position.
