*Design & Technology Librarian DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES* Dalhousie University Libraries is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking, innovative and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Design & Technology Librarian. This is a full-time appointment outside the bargaining unit. Possessing a strong service ethic, the Design & Technology Librarian administers the Sexton Design & Technology Library and provides leadership in the development and provision of knowledgeable, contemporary library service to the Faculties of Engineering, Architecture and Planning. The incumbent reports to the Associate University Librarian and serves on the University Librarian’s Council responsible for the overall management and development of the Dalhousie Libraries. * REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent; five or more years’ administrative experience managing library professional and support staff in academic, professional, or special libraries; demonstrated experience with contemporary library services, learning spaces and technologies; familiarity with information needs specific to the Engineering, Architecture, and Planning communities; experience in a library public services environment and in the effective delivery of new and emerging public services; evidence of leadership in Library system-wide initiatives and services; experience in the effective delivery of instructional services and a commitment to information literacy; evidence of active participation in library professional associations; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Academic background in engineering or other applied sciences, architecture or planning; experience designing library space to accommodate new and emerging technologies and services; demonstrated university service and collegial relations within a library system context. *AVAILABILITY OF THE POSITION:* The position is available immediately.
