The students of the School of Information Management (SIM) at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Management would like to invite you to attend the second annual conference: Information Without Borders. The theme of this year's conference is Information Management Sustaining Communities and will be held Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th at Dalhousie University.
We are pleased to announce that Eric Stackhouse, Chief Librarian of the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library will be the opening keynote speaker of the conference. Mr. Stackhouse is the 2006 recipient of the Norman Horrocks Award for Library Leadership. As Chief Librarian he has worked to improve the library system and the community it serves.
The first day of the conference will begin with a presentation of current SIM students' papers on the topic of Sustainability: A Student's Perspective. The day will close with a reception. Saturday's guest panellists will discuss Sustainable Structures, Sustainable Living in a Digital World, and Library Sustainability and Partnership.
The closing keynote address will be delivered by Stephen Abram, Special Libraries Association (SLA) President. Mr. Abram is currently serving as Vice President Innovation for SirsiDynix and Chief Strategist for the SirsiDynix Institute. His interests include how libraries sustain communities through technology.
