Reporting to the Manager, Acquisition Services, the Library Clerk IV orders serials and periodicals, monitors print and electronic subscriptions and carries out associated administrative procedures. The Library Clerk IV contacts serial subscription vendors, publishers and distributors on matters relating to the collection; receives subscription invoices, verifies costs, taxes, and past receipt of issues, recommends payment; submits claims to vendors as required; ensures subscription costs are applied to the correct internal accounts; monitors and troubleshoots access problems for electronic subscriptions. We require an individual with a high school diploma plus a minimum of two year's related experience in an automated library system, The successful applicant must be mature and knowledgeable with good interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency with MS Word and Excel; demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealing with vendors and publishers; willing to learn new library technologies; have effective time management and organizational skills plus the ability to multi-task in a high-volume team environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with ordering and/or invoicing and a related Library Technician diploma would be an asset.
