Net neutrality has emerged as a hot button issue in the United States with a growing number of groups concerned about how ISPs treat Internet traffic. As concern gravitates north to Canada, this session will explore the net neutrality issue from a Canadian perspective.

Wikis for Teaching and Learning
with Doug Achterman- 1 hour WEB CONFERENCE
Wiki technology has great potential for elementary and secondary classrooms to engage in collaborative on-line knowledge creation. Building wikis allows groups of people to create documents, project plans, undertake collaborative analysis, and build data sets and then draw major conclusions, make decisions, or note patterns and trends. Building on David Loertscher's session Wednesday October 3rd on Super Teaching: 15 Think! Models, Doug will demonstrate how wikis are created and used in teaching and learning.

Who Do You Think You Are debuts on CBC Television on October 11th at 7:30 pm. Based on a popular British series that is now in its fourth year, this joint venture of the CBC and Library and Archives Canada will have your patrons at your door champing at the bit to trace their family history. In the program each week, prominent Canadians such as Margot Kidder, Don Cherry, Avi Lewis, Measha Brueggergosman, Mary Walsh, Randy Bachman and Scott Thompson go on a search to discover their family histories.
Be ready! This introductory session will get you started in the fascinating world of genealogy. Learn how to answer genealogical queries. Gain understanding of genealogy - what it is, what it is not. Develop a perspective on the common questions and how to deal with them. What are the issues to beware; they do exist. Where can you go for expert help?
