[log in to unmask] LIBRARY SUPPORT STAFF DAY (HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA) ? The Canadian Library Association has declared the third Friday of October as Library Support Staff Day. The Nova Scotia Association of Library Technicians has worked closely with CLA to bring about this exciting day. On Friday October 19, 2007, libraries across the country will celebrate the valuable contribution of Library Technicians, Library Assistants and Library Clerks. Library Support Staff are the backbone of libraries, working both behind the scenes and at the forefront to help libraries grow. The purpose of this day is to recognize the work of Library Technicians, Library Assistants and Library Clerks in our Canadian public, private, government and institutional libraries. It will give them the opportunity to promote their profession, recognize their role in libraries and celebrate their achievements.
