OUR
OPPORTUNITY: You are accountable for the day-to-day
operation of the Akerley Campus Library, under the general direction and
supervision of the Campus and/or Regional Librarian. You will provide
reference services and assistance to users in finding items, using the online
catalogue or using library resources, including electronic databases and the
Internet. You will provide library tours and orientations to groups or
individuals, and provide user education during all transactions with library
patrons. You will also provide a document delivery service, prepare orders,
prepare displays, signage and other documents, circulate Library materials and
register patrons into Novanet.
YOUR
CREDENTIALS/QUALIFICATONS:
•You possess a diploma in Library and Information Technology, combined
with a minimum of one year experience in providing public service in a library
environment, or the recognized equivalencies.
•You possess a significant level of computer literacy, including the
complete suite of Microsoft applications and you are proficient in Internet
searches.
•Experience with the Aleph integrated library system (ILS) would be an
asset.
•You thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment and possess
exceptional client skills. You are a creative self-starter with a strong
work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
