Call for articles for Partnership: the Canadian Journal of Library and Information Practice and Research Second Issue.

Innovations in Practice

Are you doing some innovative, time saving or creative in your library, why not write about!  This section will publish articles of 1000-4000 words that describe new initiatives and analyze their outcomes. Articles in this section will undergo a double blind peer review process before publication.  Deadline is February 28th.

Theory and Research

Need a venue for that research project you’ve been working on for awhile.  Research articles can be either quantitative or qualitative in nature. Articles should be 1500-5000 words and will be subject to a double blind peer review process.  Deadline is February 28th.

Conference Spotlight

The recent OLA SuperConference had so many great sessions – make a recommendation or submit your session in text, powerpoint or as a podcast.  Deadline is February 28th.

Professional Development

This regular column features short reviews or highlights of new resources, projects, web tools or other areas with a goal of providing current awareness for professional development. While the section will have an editor, guest experts will be sought by the editor so each column will be on a theme.  This issue’s theme will be “social networking tools and their use in libraries”.  Deadline is April 15th.

Media/Publication Reviews

Profiles

Know someone in a library that you think deserves some recognition, let us know. Each submission should include brief biographical information on the practitioners, details of their notable endeavor, and should be approximately 300-500 words in length.  Deadline is April 15th.

Viewpoints

Got something to say!  We want to hear your opinion or viewpoint on current and controversial topics.  The pieces should be relatively short in length (500 – 1500 words) and should engage the reader (call to action, identifying issues not to be ignored). Deadline is April 15th.

News and Announcements

What’s going on in your neck of the woods?  Let us know. A News & Announcements article briefly describes things such as an award received, a new library, a new appointment, or research in progress. Deadline is April 15th.
