(please excuse duplicate postings) LIBRARY TECHNICIAN, TEMPORARY (1 Year) Ministry of Education, Public Library Services Branch, Victoria, BC This position is responsible for the administration and student support functions for the Community Library Training Program; provision of distance and face-to-face training to public library staff in BC; and provision of technical and administrative support to the provincial Interlibrary loan (ILL) network. Also includes support for other Branch programs or special projects. Qualifications - Completion of a Library Technician Program, or an equivalent combination of training and library experience; Experience/training in: searching bibliographic and full-text databases, instructional techniques, use of standard library reference sources, particularly online databases such as EBSCOhost, QP LegalEze, encyclopedias and handbooks, etc. Experience/training in keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and database software and in web site maintenance using html and ftp software. Two years experience in a public library setting is preferred.
