The Halifax Library Association will be hosting a talk titled “The ABCs of Associations” on Saturday November 18th at 1pm..
Norman Horrocks, professor emeritus of the School of Information Management and recent Order of Canada recipient, and Madeleine Lefevbre, former president of CLA and current University Librarian at Saint Mary’s, will talk about the various library associations out there, their personal experiences with those associations, what to expect when serving on a committee, and give a brief introduction to rules of order.
This event is free to HLA members. Non-members may attend by joining HLA before the event (form available on our web site, URL below) or by paying our membership fees at the door. Membership is $5 for students, $10 for other individuals.
The event will take place at the School of Information Management, 4th floor, Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building, Dalhousie University, 6100 University Avenue.
