Please excuse cross-posting of this message. **************************************************************** The Nova Scotia Provincial Library will be hosting an Education Institute audio conference titled “They Won't Sell Themselves: Marketing Your Electronic Products” with Jeff Wisniewski on September 26th. Federated search, openURL, RSS, wikis, blogs, commercial databases... libraries are investing a lot of time, effort, and money in electronic products and services, but after the hard work is done, we often forget to sell them to our constituents. We're operating in an increasingly competitive environment. Learn how to create a marketing plan so that you can put forward a memorable and cohesive message, learn how to get your audiences' attention, and learn about useful tools to help you market professionally and easily. He is the Web Services Librarian for the University Library System at the University of Pittsburgh, where he maintains the Library System's public Web site and staff intranet, coordinates technical support for Pitt's University-wide ETD program, and project manages new technology initiatives . He has served as a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, has taught numerous workshops covering such topics as Web site evaluation, JavaScript, Intranet design, the PHP scripting language, and Cascading Style Sheets, and is a frequent presenter at Web and Internet conferences.
